“Moving Out/Moving In: A Multidisciplinary Exploration of the Immigrant Experience” is a service-learning course created and taught by Mirta Tocci in the Institute for Liberal Arts & Interdisciplinary Studies at Emerson College in Boston, MA. Tocci describes the five-year history of her collaboration with community partner, lnquilinos Boricuas en Acci6n, focusing on how Emerson students’ study of the psychosocial effects of the immigrant experience inspires art projects created by Emerson students and Latino children aged 5-12 enrolled in
IBA’s Cacique after-school program.
