As Editor of Reflections, I am pleased to introduce this special issue entitled Sustainable Communities and Environmental Communication as part of last year’s first Conference on Community Writing. We owe gratitude to our special co-editors, Veronica House, Catherine Laswell, and Rebecca Dickson, for their work on the first Reflections special issue focused on environmental issues. The topic fits perfectly with our emphasis on social justice and activism, so we’re elated to have an issue with intersections to previous special issues and articles focused on race, disability, class, gender, and other social justice and awareness concerns.
